Summary
The Moravian College Scholars in Mathematics and Computer Science (MCS2) Program provides scholarships to students who transfer to Moravian College to complete a bachelors degree in
mathematics or computer science, or a bachelors degree in a STEM field along with a minor in mathematics or computer science. Selected students are awarded scholarships of
$5,000 per semester ($10,000 annually) for up to five semester at Moravian.
During the summer prior to their first fall semester at Moravian the students
will have an opportunity to participate in a Summer Integrated Research
Program. This 10 week summer program starts Memorial day weekend and continues through the first week of August. The summer program provides students a $1500 research
stipend and free on-campus housing while they engage in a research project
with mathematics and computer science faculty. The summer program also
includes a tuition waiver for a course only open to the MCS2 participants
and a personalized orientation to the Moravian College campus and community.
While at Moravian, MCS2 scholars will meet regularly---both individually
and as part of the cohort---with faculty mentors. In addition to faculty
mentoring, students will be supported by peer mentoring, career education,
internship opportunities, and additional summer research opportunities.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must:
Pursue a bachelors degree in mathematics or computer science, or a bachelors degree in a STEM field along with a minor in mathematics or computer science
Meet Federal eligibility guidelines and requirements to receive financial aid
Be a US citizen
Be a transfer student from a two-year institution
