Regional Events
The LVAIC Mathematics Competition
Every fall teams of students from Lehigh valley colleges (Lehigh, DeSales, Lafayette, Muhlenburg, Moravian, and Cedar Crest) participate in a day-long competition. Teams work together to complete interesting and challenging mathematical problems. For more information, see the LVAIC competition page.
The ACM Programming Competition
Held every Fall, this regional competition is hosted by the Association for Computing Machinery. Visit the ACM web page for more information.
The CCSC Programming Competition
Held every Spring, this programming competition is hosted by the Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges (Mid-South Conference). See the CCSC web page for more information.
East Pennsylvania and Delaware Section of the MAA (EPaDel)
The regional section of the MAA regularly hosts activities of interest to our students, including
- Each fall and each spring, EPaDel hosts a regional mathematics meeting that includes key note talks by reknowned mathematicians and special sessions for talks by undergraduate students in the region.
- Every year, submissions from undergraduates are invited for the Student Mathematical Paper Competition. Submissions are generally due by June.
- Every other year, EPaDel hosts a Careers Conference in Mathematics, providing information about potential careers in mathematics. The last conference was held in Fall 2005 (more information can be found at the 2005 Careers Conference web page).
